What is rope access?

Rope access is a method of working at height using ropes and specialized equipment to access difficult-to-reach locations safely. It is commonly used in industries like construction, maintenance, inspection, and rescue operations. Workers, known as rope access technicians, use harnesses, ascenders, and descenders to move up, down, and across structures while remaining securely attached to anchor points.

This technique is widely used because it is often safer, faster, and more cost-effective than traditional access methods like scaffolding or cranes. It requires rigorous training and certification to ensure safety.
